Building on the knowledge you have gained completing our AAT Level 2 Certificate for Accounting Technicians. This advanced course is the next level towards an AAT Accounting Qualification through the "Diploma Pathway".

This pathway is based on two principles, doing the actual work, not just learning theory. As well as achieving competence to nationally agreed standards so that you have full confidence in the qualification.

The AAT Diploma for Accounting introduces more complicated accounting tasks, including the preparation of final accounts for sole traders and partnerships. You will also learn how to maintain cost accounting records and how to prepare reports and returns.

At the end of your course you will be ready to sit the exams and projects for the AAT Level 3 Diploma for Accounting Technicians.

From there, if you wish, you'll be able to go on to study for the full AAT Accounting Qualification.

    Study Details


    Your AAT Diploma for Accounting training has 9 assignments to be completed throughout your studies.  You will complete these at home and send to your personal tutor for assessment.  Your tutor is then able to determine your progress and provide valuable feedback.  

    Each new study topic adds to the knowledge you have already gained, and you should be able to complete the entire course within approximately 400 hours of study.

    To acquire the full AAT Level 3 Diploma you will be required to sit 5 computer-based exams and 2 computer-based projects which will be sat at an external test centre.

    By equipping you with the practical, hands-on accounting skills employers are looking for, your AAT Diploma for Accounting training will prepare you for your first specialist accounting role. This could be as a Book-Keeper, Accounts Clerk, Company Cashier, Sales or Purchase Ledger Clerk, or trainee Financial Accounts Assistant.
