
ICB Certificate in Book-Keeping or Sage Certificate of Competency
This course will enable you to gain a general Book-Keeping qualification, while at the same time offering an introduction to Sage - the accountancy software now used by over half a million UK businesses.
As well as learning the essential principles of Book-Keeping covering all the key areas including how to record transactions, how to input and customer and supplier details, how to edit the nominal ledger, how to record income and expenditure, how to follow the correct procedures for banking and invoicing, and how to keep VAT records. It also provides an introduction to Sage Instant Accounting Solutions.
You will need no prior knowledge of Book-Keeping, but by the end of your training you will be qualified to apply for a job as a Sage Book-Keeper - the kind of job that could easily pay you up to £35,000* per annum.
Note: Latest Sage computerised Book-Keeping software is supplied.
Qualifications
At the end of your Sage computerised Book-Keeping course, you can sit for either the Certificate in Book-Keeping, awarded by the Institute of Certified Book-Keepers the largest Book-Keeping association in the world with over 150,000 members, or the Sage Certificate of Competency.
This course will add value to your CV by demonstrating your commitment to your own personal development, as well as demonstrating your skill and competence as a trained Book-Keeper with a sound working knowledge of Sage.

Study Details
In order to assess your progress and obtain feedback you will be required to complete 6 assignments during your studies. These will be sent to your personal tutor for assessment.
Once you have completed studying the course materials and study modules you will sit 2 exams. The first exam is completed at home and the second exam has to be completed at a local external exam centre.
Most students can complete the Sage computerised Book-Keeping course within approximately 120 hours of study.
Note: The minimum computer hardware requirements for this course are;
- 1 GHz or faster processor
- 512mb ram or higher
- 400MB of available hard disk space for installation
- Internet Explorer 6 or higher
- DVD-ROM drive
- 800x600 or higher resolution screen with 16 bit high colour
- Your operating system must be at least Windows 2000(SP4), WindowsXP(SP4), Windows 2003 or Windows Vista.
