The Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6 (CX-310-065)

Study Plan


Your course is divided into two major study sections - Java Programming Fundamentals, and Sun Certified Java Programmer for Java 6.

Section 1 – Java Programming Fundamentals

This section focuses on everything involved in writing Java applications and applets. You will cover the following study topics:

  • Arrays

Section 2 - Sun Certified Java Programmer for Java 6

This section focuses on everything involved in creating Java source files and in defining packages and all forms of classes and interfaces. You will cover the following study topics:

 

  • Declarations and Access Control
  • Object Orientation
  • Assignments
  • Operators
  • Flow Control, Exceptions, and Assertions
  • Strings, I/O, Formatting, and Parsing
  • Generics and Collections
  • Inner Classes
  • Threads
  • Development
     

Assignments


The Java Computer Programming course has 20 assignments for you to complete. Once you have completed an assignment you should send it to your personal tutor.  Your completed assignments will enable your personal tutor to see your progress, offer helpful feedback, and ensure you're getting the very most from your training.


 

Study Details


Your course is designed to allow you to learn at your own pace and in a logical way, with each new study topic building on the knowledge you have already gained.

You should expect to complete the course within approximately 240 hours of study.

Note: The minimun computer hardware requirements for this course are;
  • 500MHz or faster processor
  • 120MB RAM or higher
  • 2GB of available hard disk space for installation
  • DVD-ROM drive, broadband Internet access
  • 1024 x 768 or higher resolution screen
  • Your operating system must be at least  Windows 2000(SP4), WindowsXP(SP2), Windows 2003 or Windows Vista.
